About us

Three friends. Not pros, but not panic.

Shelf Reliance is run by three friends in the UK.

How it started

Friends and family kept asking us about prepping: which kit to buy, and which ideas were worth it. Rather than fill everyone’s phones with Amazon links and talk their ears off, we put it all in one place. That means free, simple PDF guides, and a short list of kit we’d recommend.

Who we are

We’re not professionals. We’ve gone down plenty of rabbit holes, researching and talking ideas through until they made sense. What we share comes from understanding, and more importantly, not panic.

How we pick the kit

We’ve bought some of the kit on our list ourselves. The rest we’ve researched, and it’s sitting in our baskets waiting for pay day (and permission from our wives 😉). Items with the tick badge are ones we, or someone we trust, have actually used.

What we believe

• Start small. One or two items is a fine start. You don’t need everything at once.
• Calm beats fear. Being ready should feel like peace of mind, not panic.
• Ready to help. When your own home is sorted, it’s easier to look out for family and neighbours.

The guides come first

Information is king. The free guides are the point of Shelf Reliance, and the kit list is a by-product of them. Links to Amazon are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate, Shelf Reliance earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. We only list kit we’d buy ourselves, and we’ll never push you to buy more than you need.

Our Suggestions form is not switched on yet. We’ll update this page when you can send us questions, reviews and ideas.

We’re not an emergency service. If something is happening, follow official advice first. See Official UK help.
